cot·tage in·dus·try

/ˌkädij ˈindəstrē/

noun: cottage industry

1. a business or activity run out of a home by a single individual or family

2. any business or individual who produces goods or sells services within their own home

While I have always dreamt of owning my own business, it was only after the acquisition of the company I was working for that I created Cottage Industry. My job was gone, but my industrious nature was not.

In the days that followed, I explored how I could apply my skills and 30 years of experience in Hospitality, Corporate Event Planning, Client Services and Project Management to a business that would allow me to do the things I am best at and from the place I most enjoy being, my “cottage” on Cape Cod.

My multifaceted background has served me very well. Now it will also enhance the lives of the people in my community (Bourne, Woods Hole, Falmouth, Sandwich, Mashpee, Cotuit, Osterville, Barnstable and Hyannis).

Cottage Industry. A Personal Concierge Service.

Cottage Industry is just awesome. I learned about them through the neighborhood app “Nextdoor” and I couldn’t be happier that I did. It was a one-off home project that I don’t have the vision or skill (or patience even) to do myself. I figured that since it only “meant” something to me, that no one would really be interested in touching it.

Deb Cassel, owner of Cottage Industry, immediately responded, got a total sense of the project by asking GREAT questions, made spot-on recommendations, gave me a price lower than expected and met and exceeded EVERY deliverable. I don’t have a lot of $$, but I’m going to use her for other stuff coming up (family reunion kinda thing, etc.). Take a look at her website and see the possibilities. Deb is a class act.
